Volunteers are crucial to making light for love a beautiful, refreshing, and inspiring evening, and we appreciate your interest!
Volunteers are needed in 3 roles and anyone from any parish is welcome and encouraged to volunteer. All roles will have a quick training before the event begins:
Inviter: The Inviter's role will be to be on the street inviting others to stop in and light a candle for someone they love. You can encourage people to walk around the church, light a candle, say a prayer or even speak with someone to pray with them. The Inviter is someone who typically feels comfortable approaching and speaking with people.
Greeter: The Greeter's role will be to stand at the open door and aroudn the insdie of the church to welcome people inside. They may be asked questions (i,e, where is the bathroom, where should I put my candle, etc,) about the church or the event.
Intercessor: The Intercessor has the very important task of praying and interceding for the event and all those who will walk into the church that evening. The Intercessor role is for someone who may not feel comfortable approaching people on the street but would like to be part of this evening It may also include those who would feel comfortable praying out loud for others who ask for prayer (optional and not required).
All volunteers will be provided with a badge to wear during the event.
