Blessing of the Pets - Oct. 4, 1:00 pm @ St. Luke

In celebration of the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and ecology, all are invited to a special Blessing of the Pets on Sun, Oct 4, 1pm at St Luke Church (north side, adjacent to Clifton Road).

For centuries, Christians have honored St Francis for his profound love of God's creation and his recognition that all creatures reflect the goodness and glory of their Creator. The annual Blessing of the Pets offers an opportunity to thank God for the companionship, joy, and unconditional love that animals bring into our lives.

Deacon Tom will lead a brief prayer service, followed by an individual blessing for each pet. Whether your companion is furry, feathered, scaled, or shell-covered, all well-behaved pets are welcome to attend and receive a special blessing. For the safety and comfort of everyone present, please bring pets on a leash or in a carrier. Those who are unable to bring a pet are encouraged to bring a photograph of their animal companion and participate in the blessing.

This event is also a wonderful opportunity to invite friends, neighbors, and family members to share in a joyful celebration of God's gifts. As St Francis famously prayed, "Praise be to You, my Lord, through all Your creatures."
