Pope Leo XIV!

We joyfully share the news that Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost has been elected as the 267th pope of the Catholic Church, taking the name Pope Leo XIV!

Originally from Chicago, Pope Leo XIV is the first pope from the United States and brings with him years of missionary experience in Peru. Today, standing before the world, he greeted us with the words: “Peace be with you all!”

Let’s join together in offering our prayers and support for our new Holy Father as he begins his ministry as the successor of St. Peter. May God guide Pope Leo XIV with wisdom, courage, and compassion as he leads the Church in these times.

 O God, shepherd and ruler of all the faithful, look favorably on your servant Leo, whom you have set at the head of your Church as shepherd; grant, we pray, that by word and example he may be of service to those over whom he presides, so that, together with the flock entrusted to his care, he may come to everlasting life. Amen.
