Holy Thursday Mass — April 2 at 7P
St. Clement Parish
2022 Lincoln Ave, Lakewood
Join us as we remember the night Jesus Christ shared His final meal with His disciples. This meaningful service marks the beginning of the most sacred days of Holy Week, called the Holy Triduum.
During the Mass, you will experience:
The Remembrance of the Last Supper And Institution of the Eucharist and Holy Priesthood
We recall the night Jesus shared bread and wine with His disciples, which He made into His Body and Blood, giving the gift of the Eucharist. We also commemorate the institution of the priesthood.
The Washing of Feet
The priest may wash the feet of several people, recalling Jesus’ example of humble love and service, inviting us to do the same in our own lives.
A Quiet and Moving Conclusion
At the end of Mass, the altar is stripped bare, symbolizing Jesus’ arrest and the beginning of His suffering.
The Mass itself lasts between 60-90 minutes, and many churches remain open after Holy Thursday Mass throughout the Diocese for a time of “keeping vigil” with Jesus. Often people will journey to several churches to make a “mini pilgrimage” or Holy Night Hike following Mass.
All are welcome—including those who are new to church, returning after time away, or simply curious.
Come and experience a night of reverence, humility, and love.
